Training and Communications Subcommittees Get Busy
September 29th, 2008 @ 3:59 pm by Elliot Lopez
While the implementation committee has been hard at work on the configuration and implementation of the software, templates and user roles in Cascade Server, the campus has clearly been abuzz with talk about when the system will be available, what features and functionality it will provide, and who will be able to use it. As part of a multifaceted effort to inform the campus about our process and progress, our implementation committee has activated two new subcommittees: training and communications.
The communications subcommittee will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to support and increase campus awareness of the Web CMS. The committee will plan to offer information and resources via a variety of outlets, and will regularly solicit questions and gather information from the campus to inform project strategy.
The training subcommittee will be responsible for developing comprehensive educational programs related to the implementation, adoption and use of the Web CMS. The training subcommittee will work with the vendor, campus staff development, and other resource providers to ensure that adopters of the system are comfortable with the use of the system prior to migrating their sites.
As with other committees in the initiative, leadership will be provided by campus representatives who have volunteered to participate in the deployment of the system.
